Lightning Talks

What is it?

This may go some way to explaining it.  It has been used heavily in the Information Technology industry, notably many events held for Perl programmers.  We liked it so much we decided to use the concept and adapt it for our own purposes. (See below)

How are we going to use it?

Three participants to talk for five minutes on a topic of their choosing.

Sign up sheets will be available at the registration desk and we will be accepting submission until the start of morning tea.

If you are thinking of nominating for a lightening talk you will need to do a little preparation in advance.

You will need:

  1. A title and one sentence that describes your topic
  2. Up to 3 slides on a USB (something visual will help your talk – perhaps bring it on a USB or use your favourite cloud app that stores this stuff)
  3. Some idea of what you want to discuss (bullet points)
